Anime version of Ashley

Image
I loved watching Japanese anime when I was a little girl.  I still remember I would sit on a stool in front of the TV.  When my favorite show was on, I would start sketching out the characters I like.  Yes... I'm old.  There was no internet when I was young.  One of my favorite Japanese anime was Candy Candy.  Anyway, I drew my daughter in anime version for fun.  My daughter approved my drawing!  Lol!  I gave her free eyelash extensions.

Bullet Journal - Sept 26 to Oct 2 Weekly Layout

Image
I am very excited to work on my Sept 26 to Oct 2 weekly layout for my bullet journal.  I've tried out a new layout where I have all the days on the upper top of the page and 3 different sections: goals, to-do's and tracking, placed at the bottom.  Thank you of to all other bullet journalists for sharing their ideas! I've learned a great deal and am looking forward to try out more layouts.

Bullet Journal - October Monthly Layout

Image
I chose orange as the color for my October monthly layout since it reminds me of pumpkins (haha).  Yes, it's the time of the year again!  I just brought the new washi tape with the orange flowers and it fits well for my October theme.  I cut around the flowers so it looks more unique.  Although it's not easy to cut around the flowers without ripping the tape, it came out great on the monthly layout.  I love it!  I hope you guys like it too!

Marauder's Map

Image
This is a mother and daughter collaboration.  My daughter has to design a math poster for her extra credit homework.  She came up with the idea of the Marauder's Map from Harry Pottery but the locations are related to math.  I drew the map at a time crunch but it came out okay.  It is fun to do something different (low key throwing shade at geometry).

Chanin II

Image
Today is raining and cloudy in NYC.  It's cool and wet, not a cheery day.  However, I'm so excited to show my new drawing to everyone.  I finished my Chanin II.  It took me a bit longer than I expected but I'm very happy about how it came out.  Sometimes, I have an image in my mind as to how my drawing would look like.  As part of the creative process, the drawing has a life of its own.  It shows you what it can be.

Bullet Journal - Sept 19 to Sept 25 Weekly Layout

Image
For the September 19 to September 25 weekly layout for my bullet journal, I came across this layout from Tiny Ray of Sunshine.  On the left side, I put a quote that I like and also my intention for the week.  I am very excited to see how this layout will work for me.

Bullet Journal

Image
I just received my Leuchttrum 1917 journal this Tuesday.  I was ecstatic!  When I first read about bullet journals, I had not idea what they were.  The more I read about it, the more it made sense.  When I watched the video from bulletjournal.com, it hit home.  This is what I have been looking for.  Since this is the first time I'm trying out the bullet journal, I started off my first layoff with the traditional method.  I am looking forward to trying out different layouts and sharing with everyone my progress in the future.

Hello everyone! I hope you've all been faring well (especially with the sudden onslaught of a heat wave in New York; it's quite miserable, but I'll probably regret complaining in the winter). This is one of my little projects that I completed yesterday, inspired by the blue and yellow dots scattered on the Metro-North's floor and a building next to Grand Central. This is actually my first time doing anything somewhat resembling contemporary art and I have to admit, I'm excited to delve into this new artistic style! Enjoy~

Chanin

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while. My old job was extremely stressful and unfortunately my creative flow was completely halted. Luckily, after getting a new job in the city I've gradually become more inspired (I mean, how can you not with the splatters of unique architectural design wherever you go?) and have made time for myself to continue with my blog. This is one of my drawings inspired by the Chanin Building in New York City.
